Frederick County Public Schools is supporting graduate degree internships and field placements for its employees by granting a maximum of two days of professional leave.
Graduate Degree Internships
These days may be taken in one-half day increments and must be coordinated in advance with your principal. If you are interested in applying for the two days of professional leave, please complete the Graduate Degree Internship Form below and send it to Monica Hinegardner, Supervisor of Professional Learning and Federal Programs at the Administration Building.
Field Placements (Including Classified)
Employees must apply for these two leave days and should contact Lisa Tri, HR Analyst, for the appropriate paperwork and SFE code after receiving approval from their administrator. If the employee needs to complete additional hours at other buildings/offices beyond the two days provided, appropriate leave (personal) must be taken. If the employee does not have leave available, then the employee will receive a dock in pay. Regardless of the leave days that are available, the internship hours conducted at other buildings/offices should not interfere with the employee’s normal job responsibilities.
